NOTIFICATION FOR APPROVAL HEARING BY THE COMMITTEE ON APPOINTMENTS OF THE PERSONS NOMINATED FOR APPOINTMENT AS MEMBERS OF THE MUNICIPALITY BOARDS OF BUNGOMA AND KIMILILI MUNICIPALITIES

NOTIFICATION FOR APPROVAL HEARING BY THE COMMITTEE ON APPOINTMENTS OF THE PERSONS NOMINATED FOR APPOINTMENT AS MEMBERS OF THE MUNICIPALITY BOARDS OF BUNGOMA AND KIMILILI MUNICIPALITIES

Pursuant to Sections 13 and 14 of the Urban Areas and Cities Act no. 13 of 2011, His Excellency the Governor has nominated the under-listed persons to serve on the Boards of Bungoma and Kimilili Municipalities.


Pursuant to Section 7(5) of Public Appointments (County Assemblies Approval) Act, No. 5 of 2017 and Standing Order 56(3) of County Assembly of Bungoma, the general public is hereby notified that the Sectoral Committee on Lands, Urban, Physical Planning and Housing shall conduct the approval hearing of the nominees to the positions of Members of the Municipality Boards of Bungoma and Kimilili on Tuesday 28th January, 2025 and Wednesday 29th January, 2025 respectively in the County Assembly Plenary.


The nominees are required to collect the vetting questionnaire from the o ce of the Clerk to the County Assembly between 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 21st January, 2025 and return them with copies of the following documents on or before Thursday, 23rd January, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.

1. National identification Card or passport

2. Curriculum Vitae and relevant academic and professional certificates

3. Letters/ certificates of clearance/ compliance from the following bodies.

a. Kenya revenue Authority (KRA)

b. Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)

c. Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)

d. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission(EACC)

e. Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

The nominees are also advised to bring ORIGINALS of the above mentioned documents on the day of approval hearing.


Further, Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7(10) of the Public Appointments (County Assemblies Approval) Act, No. 5 of 2017, the Committee on Lands, Urban, Physical Planning and Housing invites members of the public to submit any information or comments on the suitability or otherwise of the candidates by written statement on oath (affidavit) with supporting evidence.

The written memoranda may be forwarded to the Clerk of the County Assembly of Bungoma, P.O Box 1886-50200, Bungoma; hand – delivered to the Office of the Clerk, Bungoma or emailed to info@bungomaassembly.go.ke; to be received on or before Friday 24th January, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
